Antonio Caruso is a leading Brazilian oil and gas expert and, founder of Argentera Oil & Gas, having worked for 25 years with different multinational companies worldwide.
With the discovery of pre-salt reserves and the related boom in Brazilian oil and gas, he decided to establish his own company to apply his proven business development methodology in assisting foreign firms in profiting from the numerous opportunities in today`s market. During his career, Mr. Caruso has worked for Petrobras, Schlumberger, Subsea 7, El Paso, Keppel Energy, Smith Services, Baker Hughes and Apolo Tubulars. A Mechanical Engineer with an MBA, Mr. Caruso was born in Brazil of an immigrant Italian family and enjoys both Brazilian and Italian citizenship.
Pedro Sérviois a senior offshore civil engineer with more than 30 years` experience across several major companies—including Petrobras and Subsea 7—and several regions, including Brazil, the North Sea, and Croatia. As a pioneer in the Brazil E&P sector, he participated with Petrobras in launching the country`s first jack-up (in 1980) and more recently, its first pre-salt production well (in 2009). Pedro has an unparalleled grasp of local players, of the insertion of existing and new technologies into the local market, and the solutions and expertise that Brazil requires for its unique circumstances. His experience ranges "from seabed to surface," involving all kinds of devices, installations and types of operations such as pipelaying, deck layout, Christmas trees, deep water connections, undersea construction, and ROVs, to name just a few examples.
Antonio Pires has 27 years of experience in large Brazilian and multinational companies in the energy and steel industries and brings to Argentera expertise in business development, project team management and contract negotiation. Mr. Pires combines expertise in management and negotiation with engineering and finance, and he has a talent for identifying excellent business opportunities. As a Director at El Paso and later, at ThyssenKrupp, he managed the implementation of several major projects in the country representing an investment of approximately US$ 1 bilion. Mr. Pires is a Mechanical Engineer, with an M.Sc. degree in Energy Planning. Mr. Pires is a Brazilian citizen.
Katia Furtado is a financial manager and controller with more than 20 years of professional experience in companies in various industries including cellular (Bizcel), environmental (Ecology Brasil), entertainment (TV Globo Ltda.), and power, oil and gas (El Paso Energy). During this time she has served as a financial consultant, financial manager, controller and project controller. Ms. Furtado has a post-graduate degree in Global Business from the University of California (Riverside); a Corporate Finance degree from PUC (Rio de Janeiro); and is a graduate in Business Administration from the Universidade Santa Úrsula (Rio de Janeiro).
